A Red-Tailed Hawk landed on my terrace, a stunning surprise and rare treat. One talon gripped the rail while the other leg was firmly tucked under its breast while most likely digesting food. A breeze fanned its patterned feathers into an undulating cape. We followed each other with our eyes, with me safely behind the window. It sat long enough for me to get my camera an snap a few photos.
